Exploding Kittens: A Card Game About Kittens and Explosions and Sometimes Goats was the most backed game in Kickstarter history. The rules are simple. Players draw cards until someone pulls out an Exploding Kitten, at which point KABLAMMO! They explode. Well, they lose… unless they have a Defuse card which can defuse the kitten using an array of tools such as laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches. The rest of the cards are used to move, mitigate, or avoid Exploding Kittens. Oh, and some can activate special powers. Great fun for all the family, but if you’re after something a bit more explicit, go ahead and check out Exploding Kittens: NSFW Edition.
What else do you need to know other than Monopoly and Pokémon hooked up and had the cutest baby you’ve ever seen? Well, instead of the usual thimble or iron, they’ve replaced them with solid metal Pokémon characters. Even if you don’t play the game it’s worth getting just for those. However, you’ll probably want to play the game. In this edition you travel through all eight gyms, battling their leaders, plus with Trainer Battle and Professor Oak cards replacing the usual Chance and Community Chest, you’re in for a fun mix of surprises.
The things you didn't know you wanted. Well-made, slightly unexpected objects you can actually buy, one every other day.
